Elden Ring lands on Switch 2, and the rest of the late-August game calendar

The headline is Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, out 28 August at $79.99. It bundles the base game with Shadow of the Erdtree and adds two new starting classes, extra armour sets and Torrent customisation. It is one of the bigger third-party gets for the platform this generation.
Players elsewhere are not locked out of the new content: The Tarnished Pack brings the same additions to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC for $4.99, also on 28 August.
The rest of the calendar
| Title | Date |
|---|---|
| S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope expansion | 20 August |
| Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 | 27 August |
| Star Wars Zero Company | 27 August |
| Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition (Switch 2) | 28 August |
Also in the month’s mix: The Sinking City 2, Mortal Shell II, Beast of Reincarnation — Game Freak’s darker new IP, notable mainly because it is Game Freak — and Big Walk, from the team behind Untitled Goose Game.
Star Wars Zero Company is worth flagging for one reason: it comes from ex-XCOM developers, which tells you the genre before the trailer does.
